Her technique was effective and also a lot of fun for Dakota. He thinks it is play time when we practice with him.

Tim heeling past barking dogs in Founders Park
Tim, a 6 month old Golden Retriever, does such a great job of heeling next to me on a loose leash even though he sees the dogs barking at him from the bench on our right. For Tim, as for most dogs, It's much more difficult to ignore dogs who are trying to engage him than it is to ignore dogs who are also ignoring him. He'd love to go over to say hi to the dogs, but he's concentrating on being a good boy.
