Her technique was effective and also a lot of fun for Dakota. He thinks it is play time when we practice with him.

Here's Tim at just 6 months old doing wonderful heeling. He stays right next to me without pulling on the leash at all. When I turn, speed up, or slow down so does he. I never have to use the leash to get him to respond. When I stop he sits automatically. We're in Founder's Park in Old Town, Alexandria, on a very hot summer day, so we're staying in the shade.
